Hi Families,

Today I am sending your child’s Kindergarten Data Book home. It is a collection of writing and math activities I have kept all year; 1^st quarter, 2^nd quarter,  3^rd quarter, and 4th quarter are grouped together. I hope you enjoy seeing how much your child has grown!

They will also take home their science journals!

Today we had ice cream in the afternoon as a surprise treat!

It was a nice day!

Dear Families,
Today we talked about crabs! (Matt)
We wrote true sentences about crabs. (Min)
We made a crab in project too! (Do)
We practiced addition and counting groups of objects (fish) in math. (Cerenity)

Reminders:
*No school on Monday for Memorial Day!
*Remember to feel free to stop by to check our lost and found if your child has lost anything this year. We have a lost and found area in all buildings! I took our class to building A's lost and found but not to the other buildings. Anything not claimed will be donated at the end of the year!

Dear Families,
Today we learned about sharks!
We wrote about sharks in our ocean booklets.
We made a small book about sharks.
We went to the ABLL lab! 
Due to behavior, some of our kids are missing out on this fun experience. PLEASE continue to talk to your child about appropriate behavior at school.

Reminders:
Remember to come by lost and found if your child lost something this year! Anything not claimed, will be donated!

May 19

Dear Families,
Today we learned about starfish! (Do)
We even made one in project with rice! (Ester)
We wrote true sentences about starfish! (Nicole)
We practiced listening for beginning and ending sounds in words. (Cerenity)
For math, we talked about 3 dimensional shapes using our orange and green books! (Khai)

*Boy Cub Scout meeting TODAY 6:30 pm @ Faith United Methodist Church (E 91st & Memorial)!
*I still have class pictures available for $10. If you want one send cash or a check to JEE.
*Next Monday no school for Memorial Day holiday!

May 15

Dear Families,
We started the morning having Jr Achievement with Mrs. Bird. It was our last day with her!
We wrote facts about dinosaurs.
We talked about shapes and compared them to other shapes!
We put a dinosaur skeleton together! This was very difficult for some of us!
We went to the library! We did not check out books. We will get to check out books again when we are first graders!

If you did not purchase a class picture and would like to, I have about 5 available. They are $10 each. Please make checks payable to Jenks East Elementary.

May 14

Dear Families,
Today we finished writing about our dads! (Min)
We looked at nature objects like leaves, sticks, and flowers to see if they were symmetrical! (Colton)
We found out some things were symmetrical but not everything!
Today we had fun pretending to be paleontologist and got dinosaurs out of ice! (Jesus)
We worked as a team to get our dinosaur out!

Tonight family literacy night starts at 6! We hope to see you!

Today we read books about dinosaur fossils!
A fossil can be bones or prints left behind. (Jesus)
We made our own dinosaur fossil print! (Ester)
In math we made a symmetrical painting! (Min)
We wrote about our dads today in writing workshop. (Colton)
We went to the ABLL lab and had fun! (Do) 
We had a lot of misbehaviors today in class. I would really appreciate more reminders and conversations about appropriate behaviors at home. Thank you so much!

We corrected mistakes in sentences together! (Dillan)
We pretended we have a pet dinosaur and wrote about it! (Rowan)
We did a counting page to 44. (Aairel)
We sorted dinosaurs that walked on 2 and 4 legs! (Daniel)

Dear Parents,
We started the morning at Jenks Middle School watching a puppet show! The kids enjoyed it!
We wrote about a garden!
We searched for bug words on a puzzle.
After lunch we got to meet a librarian from Tulsa Public Library. She gave us a flyer to take home about summer programs at the library!
We got new books from our library!

News:
*If you ordered a class picture, they are going home today! Look in your child's folder/backpack for these!
*MOMS! Your child made you 2 things for Mother's Day! We hope you enjoy them and have a great Mother's Day!

Dear Families,
Happy Cinco De Mayo!
We practiced making words and writing complete sentences!
Today we practiced counting by 10's!
We looked at our terrariums and drew our observations!
We read a funny story called What would it be like to have animal hair?!

We are starting to have a problem with students bringing money, candy, and toys to class and giving these things away to others. Please talk to your child about this not being allowed.

Dear Families,
It was a great day!
Today started with Donuts with Dads! It was the last one of the year!
We read the story The Grouchy Ladybug and talked about the characters!
We had our counseling class with Mrs. Enzbrenner!
In math we talked about attribute blocks and used them to sort! Do Link 4-13 for extra practice at home!
We went to library!
