Dear Families,
Since our afternoon will be full because of our party I thought I would send you a quick message now!
This morning we reviewed how to write a complete sentence!
We went to Reading centers!
We went to library and checked out new books! Please keep these in a safe place over the holidays. Backpacks are a great place!
Since we had indoor recess, we went to big centers!
Thanks to everyone for the party treats, drinks, and food! We really appreciate it!
Thank you also for the wonderful gifts! It really means a lot!
Your child is taking home a winter packet from me. Inside you will find a winter journal they can write in, a math booklet to practice math, and some small books they can read and keep at home!
Also, your child made you a gift! We hope you enjoy it!
Reminders:
Tomorrow is PJ day! If your child will like to bring a small blanket OR pillow they can bring 1 tomorrow!

Dear Families,
This week we have read many versions of the story the Gingerbread Man. We noticed a lot of similarities in the stories. When we can find a connection between two books we call that a text to text connection. Sometimes the stories we read can remind us of a time in our own lives. We call this a text to self connection!
We learned a lot about the letters x and y! Please remember to regularly check to see if your child is remembering the letters we cover in class!
We wrote a letter to Santa today!
We went to library! A lot of kids are forgetting books at home. Please help them bring them to school daily by leaving them in backpacks.
Notes:
Next Thursday is our winter party at 2!
Next Friday we will have PJ day and watch a holiday movie! Please make sure the PJ's your child wears are appropriate for school and for the weather!
Please read daily with your child at home!
I'm sending 2 small books that we gave parents last month at our Literacy/Math night. These books give you some AWESOME questions to get the whole family talking!
*Behavior has been difficult this week. I know our kids are ready for our upcoming break but I would really appreciate extra reminders at home.

News (PLEASE READ):
I just wanted to let you know that our class had a BIG talk today about keeping our hands to ourselves. The kids are becoming very touchy again and even beginning to act like they are going to kiss/lick others and touch them in places where they SHOULD NOT be touching. Please talk with you child about this so that these incidents will not continue. I stressed that this is not a funny matter. From now on, if any such incident occurs, it will result in an immediate visit to the office. Thanks for your understanding and help!
Reminders:
Christmas party next Thursday at 2:00--info coming soon!
This Friday is National Sweater Day! Wear a fun sweater to school!

Dear Families,
We started our day in reading centers! (Cerenity)
We made funny pictures of us with 10 apples on our heads! (Khai) We practiced counting with these apples!
We did our summer tree page in our seasons book! (Jesus)
News:
I will no longer ask for flashcards to come to school. Instead please continue to practice these words with your child and leave them in a place where they can be used at home often! I'm attaching a copy of a chart of our words in case you have misplaced your flashcards. Just print the chart it if you no longer have your flashcards, and use it as a word chart! Have your child point to the words as they read a word to check if they know the word!
Dynamic dads meeting is tomorrow! Hope some of our dads are able to come tomorrow morning!
