Dear Families,
We went to centers! (Alyssa)
We read the story The Recess Queen about a bully. (Gage)
We learned about sorting today in math. (Makiah)
We practiced writing Rowan's name on our dry erase boards! (Colton)

Reminders:
1.  Please clean out folders everyday and return to school!
2.  Please write names on snacks, including water bottles everyday! Our kids are not always aware which snack they brought to school!
3.  Please return name tags if you see them at home! I will need them for next year!
4. Thank you Heather VonHartitzsch and JaShonte for being our Home Room Parents! 
5. No school tomorrow or Monday, Sept. 1st!
6. Back to school night is Tuesday, 6:30-7:30!I hope to see you! Childcare will be provided during back to school nights for school age children.

We drew our families! (Ester)
We learned about pattern blocks today in math! (Min)
We got to play in centers! (Rowan)
We learned more about Rowan! (Khai) She is our Trojan of the week!
We also found out that there are really 3 ways to read a book! We can read the words, read the pictures, and retell the story in our own words!

Our class is still discussing our class expectations! Please continue to ask your child about their day and keep those conversations going!
Remember no school this Friday or next Monday, Sept. 1!

We counted how many kids are in our family! (Jesus) We graphed our answers and found that most families have 3 kids in them!

Upcoming School Event:

Back to School Night is Tuesday, September 2^nd from 6:30-7:30 pm. We WILL have child care available in the cafeteria for school age children from 6:15-7:45. Hopefully this will give you enough time to drop your children off, make it to my classroom, and pick them back up after.

We learned about turning and talking! (Do)
We read a story called Chester and the Big Bad Bully! (Lily) We practiced turning and talking to discuss how we can handle bullies! We also went over what a bully is. Our class now knows a bully is not a person that "just" says ugly things to us but a person that causes us harm.
In math we talked about how we get to school and how we go back home! (Triston) We found out that most of our class goes to school on a bus!

It was a great day! Please remember to keep a change of clothes in your child’s backpack. Also send snacks daily. Please have snacks in the backpack and not in lunch kits!
